The Pacific Coast Wine Trail was established in 2013 as a way to both represent the vineyards and wineries located along San Luis Obispo County’s northern coast, and to provide visitors to the area an opportunity for wine tasting without having to drive 30 miles east to Paso Robles, or south to San Luis Obispo.
The wine trail stretches from San Simeon to Cayucos along SLO County’s northern coast, and officially represents six wineries.
Two of the wineries have tasting rooms on their properties with views of the vineyards, and you can find tasting rooms for the rest conveniently located in places like downtown Cambria, or across from Hearst Castle.
Although not officially part of any of the certified American Viticulture Areas in SLO County, the wineries along the Pacific Coast Wine Trail are consistently producing amazing Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Zinfandel varietals, and should not be missed on a wine tasting weekend to the central coast!
WINE TASTING ALONG THE PACIFIC COAST WINE TRAIL
Due to COVID-19, some wineries may not be open for tasting or have different hours than listed below. Given the rapidly changing landscape of rules and regulations, please contact wineries directly to ensure you are able to visit, and make reservations as necessary.
There are many incredible wines that have come out of the PCWT, and several of the vineyards have tasting rooms on their properties that are open to the public for wine tasting and events.
To help plan your next trip to the PCWT we have curated a list of the vineyard tasting rooms where you can enjoy and explore the world class varietals crafted right here in SLO County.
If you can’t make it to the vineyards check out Cambria’s Food & Drink Page to find the wine bars, tasting rooms, and restaurants that feature wines from the Pacific Coast Wine Trail!
