Walking into Farmhouse Corner Market is like walking into an Instagram dream. The rich, vibrant colors, the beautiful (and delicious!) food, and all the playful decor craft an incredible experience as you savor each bite of your meal and enjoy the market. Owners Ryan & Leanne Harris and Will & Kari Torres have truly created an experience that represents the best parts of SLO: from the restaurant to the flower market, the ice cream stand, and artisan goods for sale let you see, taste, and capture a little piece of paradise all in one stop.
Farmhouse CM is located across the street from the SLO Regional Airport in San Luis Obispo on the corner of Edna Road and Farmhouse Lane, approximately three miles southeast of downtown SLO. The market sits near undeveloped land giving it some of the best views of the surrounding hills, and the fun of watching airplanes arrive and depart with the airport just across the street. Technology giant MINDBODY is also a half-mile north on Tank Farm Road giving employees and visitors the perfect new spot for a cup of coffee, breakfast sandwich, or lunchtime meeting.
The menus at Farmhouse CM finds ways to celebrate all the incredible local produce, meats, and seafood from right here in SLO County while incorporating sophisticated flavors and techniques that create the freshest, most delicious dishes.
Their Grilled Morro Bay Avocado is a perfect example; while many restaurants in the county find ways to use the MB Avocado, Chef William Torres is placing his in a bed of Mole Verde with pickled onions and radish. The simplicity of the grilled avocado is perfectly complemented by the deep, rich, complex flavors of the mole, and pickled onions and radishes add the perfect pop of texture with a subtle hint of flavor. Amazing!
The dinner menu is also unique in that it is shared with the entire table…meaning everyone has to talk to each other and agree on what to order.
You can technically each get an individual meal, but it is so much more fun to have the experience of figuring out what to order, and then sharing that great food with the favorite people in your life.
In addition to the restaurant, Farmhouse CM also has an ice cream counter, flower shop, coffee service, and local artisan goods for sale in the back half of the building. Here you can check out their big pink tractor, order some strawberry balsamic ice cream, enjoy a cup of coffee, and pick out the perfect plants for your terrarium before heading home.
Prices and availability are subject to change depending on the season, so make sure to visit http://farmhouseslo.com/ for their current menu!
Owners Ryan & Leanne Harris and Chef William & Kari Torres have been working on Farmhouse Corner Market for over a year, and anyone who visits their new location on Farmhouse Road in San Luis Obispo will see and appreciate their effort the moment you walk inside. Every detail has been intentionally chosen, from the color on the walls to the edible flowers that decorate the dishes and the big pink tractor, and that level of quality shines through the food, the people, and the space itself.
Originally a catering company, Ryan, Leanne, William, and Kari have been building the Farmhouse CM brand over the past year and will continue to offer catering services after the opening of the market. Beginning June 1, 2019 locals and visitors alike can now enjoy the incredible menu in person at their brand-new location in San Luis Obispo, and come back again and again and again until you’ve tried it all. We know we will!
