We are honored to share a special moment that connects us personally to the ongoing struggles in the Ukraine. The cinematographer and director who kindly lent us his talents for our brand video two years ago, has recently completed a feature length documentary focusing on the unique story of winemakers and their land under siege. This private screening is most dear to Alice Cass, owner of Cass Winery here in Paso Robles. With borders drawn throughout the years, the landscape of the film is actually her family’s homeland: historically considered Poland, and now delineated as the Ukraine.
We invite you to share in this special screening with us of Wounded Land, a very personal and real storytelling of the unique challenges faced by Ukrainian vintners-farmers who are continuing to produce despite Russia’s ongoing invasion. A century’s old tradition, and a lifetime passion for the land and winemaking being endangered by war.
Following the screening, a Q&A will take place with Executive Producer Scott Marshutz and Cinematographer/Producer Andriy Semenyuk. Discover more about the making of the documentary and their continued journey towards drawing awareness through film of this unique moment in history.
